Reports to the Assistant Dean for Student and Academic Services. Provides individual and group career advising to graduate students in urban planning and public policy as well as alumni of the school. Designs, publicizes and delivers small and large group training sessions on best practices in career decision making, resume and cover letter writing, e-portfolio, employment/internship search, interviewing, networking, and other related topics. Develops strategic and collaborative alliances with outside hiring organizations for the identification of employment and internship opportunities. Analyzes and defines market, focusing heavily on emerging trends in international opportunities; and hosts employers for on-site information sessions and interviews. Actively engages alumni in the school’s mission within the professional research and academic areas to serve as mentors; and develops social and alumni panel discussions within school specialization areas. Manages new alumni and student web-based tracking program, and manages bi-annual update and collection of alumni data. Coordinates event logistics, communications, and follow-ups in conjunction with alumni volunteers and other members of the Dean’s office; serves as a liaison for the Bloustein School Alumni Association; and assists with the integration of new ideas and strategies to effectively manage and grow alumni programs.
