DESCRIPTION:We invite you to join us for “We Mean Something to Each Other: Life in Memorial Homes\,” a public exhibition celebrating the history and legacy of Memorial Homes\, a New Brunswick public housing development that was the heart of a vibrant\, close-knit community. \nNearly 25 years after its demolition\, this exhibition brings Memorial Homes back into view through the eyes of the people who lived there. Developed in dialogue with former residents\, it is the culmination of two linked courses offered in spring 2026 at the Mason Gross School of the Arts and the Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy at Rutgers University. \nThe exhibition features: \n\nPlanning research by Bloustein graduate students\nOriginal artworks by Mason Gross graduate art students\nArtifacts and oral histories from community members\nPhotography by Ben Gest and Phil Buehler\n\n🗓 Opening Reception: Saturday\, July 11 | 1–4 PM\nFood and refreshments will be served. \n📅 On View: July 11–29\, 2026 \n🕐 Gallery Hours: \n\nMon–Wed & Sat: 10:30 AM–6 PM\nThurs–Fri: 10:30 AM–7 PM\n\nFree and open to the public.
