In fact 85% of all jobs are found through networking. Students from all programs (urban planning\, public policy\, public informatics\, health administration and undergrads) are invited to this event. DESCRIPTION:Pre-major advising sessions give interested students an opportunity to learn about the undergraduate program offerings at the Bloustein School. There is an overview of each major\, minor\, and certificate program\, including the admissions criteria and application processes for current and prospective Rutgers students. Students are encouraged to bring questions. The host advisor(s) will answer them or refer the student to the appropriate department/office. \n\n\n\nThese sessions are open to current Rutgers University students who are interested in declaring a Bloustein School major. \nStudents should have the following: \n\n One or more completed semesters at Rutgers with a minimum 2.00 cumulative GPA.\n A final grade of C or higher or AP credits for College Writing – 01:355:101 (or equivalent)\n\nAttendance at the session will be used to confirm your engagement with our Office of Student and Academic Services\, which is required to declare a Bloustein School major. DESCRIPTION:Dan Dominguez\, PP\, AICP\, MCRP ’14\, is the Director of Policy and Development for the City of New Brunswick\, NJ. He is originally from Newark\, NJ\, where he spent the first 32 years of his life before moving to New Brunswick. Dan’s parents came to the United States from Spain in the 1970s. Dan obtained his BA in Political Science from Rutgers Newark in 2010 and his MCRP from the Rutgers Bloustein School in 2014. He has been Director of Policy and Development (formerly Planning\, Community and Economic Development) since 2019. As a Bloustein alum\, Dan is excited to return to the Bloustein School and provide students with firsthand insight into development planning in New Brunswick. \nIn this lecture\, Dan will discuss what it’s like to accidentally land your dream job\, COVID-19’s impact on urban development\, and other development highlights in New Brunswick over the past seven years. DESCRIPTION:Pre-major advising sessions give interested students an opportunity to learn about the undergraduate program offerings at the Bloustein School. There is an overview of each major\, minor\, and certificate program\, including the admissions criteria and application processes for current and prospective Rutgers students. Students are encouraged to bring questions. The host advisor(s) will answer them or refer the student to the appropriate department/office. \n\n\n\nThese sessions are open to current Rutgers University students who are interested in declaring a Bloustein School major. \nStudents should have the following: \n\n One or more completed semesters at Rutgers with a minimum 2.00 cumulative GPA.\n A final grade of C or higher or AP credits for College Writing – 01:355:101 (or equivalent)\n\nAttendance at the session will be used to confirm your engagement with our Office of Student and Academic Services\, which is required to declare a Bloustein School major. DESCRIPTION:The annual Rutgers Robotics Workshop series was initiated as part of the SOCRATES NSF Research Traineeship (NRT) Program and is now co-organized with the Rutgers AI and Data Science Collaboratory and Rutgers DIMACS. \nThe goal of the 2026 Rutgers Robotics Workshop is to bring together faculty\, researchers\, and students working in robotics from across the university to identify synergies\, brainstorm new collaborations\, and build teams for upcoming proposal submissions. We will also discuss ways to strengthen the Robotics@Rutgers identity and increase the visibility and coordination of robotics research across Rutgers. \nFaculty working in robotics are encouraged to sign up to give a 10-minute research talk. These talks should provide a brief overview of your research area\, with particular emphasis on opportunities for collaboration with other Rutgers researchers. Carlton\, DrPH\, MS\, CPH\, FACHE \nWhat does it take to build a career in public health when the work itself is under-resourced\, politically contested\, or simply not valued by the communities and institutions you are trying to serve? \nJoin the Bloustein School’s Undergraduate Public Health Program for the next installment of our “What’s Next?” Careers in Public Health series\, featuring Dr. Erik L. Carlton. Dr. Carlton will discuss the challenges of practicing and leading in public health amid difficult political and organizational environments and what emerging public health professionals can learn from those challenges as they prepare to enter the field. \nDr. Carlton is a tenured Associate Professor of Health Policy\, Management and Leadership and Director of the Appalachian Health Workforce Institute at West Virginia University. He is also Founder and Chief Learning Officer of The Chrysalis Leadership Group and serves on the faculty of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital’s Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences.
