The story of Sofia Walia, and why she's a pioneer athlete at Rutgers and in the Big Ten

A Public Health major, Walia plans to enroll in graduate school before deciding whether to pursue a spot on the Canadian National Team.

“I think she absolutely has the ability to continue playing on the next level,” Civico said. “Being Sikh and playing field hockey and being a young woman from Canada who’s so passionate about sport, it’s really exciting for her to be a role model for young girls and to purse her passion and dreams.”
