Only one-third of pediatric patients who go more than 20 minutes without a pulse survive, according to Dr. Anthony Rosania (Exec MHA ’19), an associate professor of emergency medicine at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School. The survival rate was once as low as 6%, said Rosania, who was not involved in Jissel’s care.
