The love story of two Irish immigrants is a lesson on America | Opinion

This is a sad story with a happy ending. It is a story of a young Irish girl who came to America — under a cloud of suspicion to some, but a savior to her family. She came in steerage, sick to her stomach.  

It is also a story of a young Irish lad who was placed in an orphanage at an early age. These two youngsters, born in different parts of Ireland in the year 1906 and — as you might have guessed — found each other in America.

But first, the sad story of the young girl.
