Travel program aids students with special needs

A program being undertaken by the Middlesex County Vocational and Technical Schools seeks to make students with special needs comfortable with public transportation.

The joint effort with Rutgers University and the New Jersey Travel Independence Program promotes “a student’s sense of independence and self-determination,” said Tracey Maccia, the vocational school district’s director of special education.
