Senate panel passes bills affecting standardized tests

Julia Sass Rubin took aim at a resolution urging the education commissioner to write guidelines on how to deal with students who don’t take the test. “This is saying to the commissioner, ‘whatever you want,’” she said. “It’s very disturbing.”
