Advanced Graphical Communication, Spring 2026

A final board for Advanced Graphical Communication uses representation as a way of thinking, not decoration.

This redevelopment plan for Main Street in Woodbridge starts with evidence. Wind-rose analysis across three seasonal windows showed where open green space could create a wind tunnel. Sun and shadow studies across three massing scenarios tested how building height affects heat gain and shade on the street. Those results informed the site plan and a mix of building types, from 3-story retail to 4-story mixed use, intended to support local business and keep the neighborhood accessible to a range of residents. The V-Ray renderings show the result: a street with added vegetation, summer shade, and a more comfortable, walkable environment for pedestrians. The board brings computational design thinking, climate analysis, and composition together. The visuals make the argument for the design.
