Traffic expert and Rutgers professor Charles Brown, who was brought in as a consultant and planner for the committee, played host to crowd that packed the West Orange High School lunch room— eager to lend their opinion on how the town can improve road safety.
Brown revealed that his graduate students from the Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy at Rutgers would be developing a Complete Streets Concept Plan for West Orange, and that it would be free of charge. Residents cheered the revelation.
