Commentary: Finding common ground for tax-exempt charities and municipal services

Morristown denied the non-profit property tax exemption claimed by its largest employer, Morristown Medical Center, and set off a firestorm. The hospital’s parent, Atlantic Health Systems, challenged the denial of its claimed exemption. Across the state, non-profit organizations–and municipalities–are watching anxiously as a court decision could have far-reaching consequences.
