To support Monarch Housing Associates’s Diversity in Development project, the Rutgers Master of Public Policy student research team produced several deliverables that sought to better understand the lack of diversity in developers within affordable housing. These deliverables included:
- A Landscape Analysis which reviews the available literature and best practices surrounding emerging developers from underserved communities.
- New Jersey Stakeholder Interviews to better understand the perspectives of developers of color, funders, and advocacy organizations involved in affordable housing.
- The Development of a Survey to be distributed to developers of color to further understand their experience in the affordable housing sector and the barriers they face to accessing it.
