Dissertation Topic/Title:

Roadside Tree Removal: Causes, Consequences, and Who Decides

Dissertation Adviser

Research Interests/Personal Statement

My dissertation focuses on roadside vegetation management practices within state highway agencies. I study the way federal design guidelines are interpreted and implemented at the state and district levels. I also use landscape ecology tools (GIS, R, and Fragstats) to analyze road infrastructure and the landscapes surrounding roads, revealing the aggregate environmental impacts of policy and design decisions.
