Thomas Kayal

MHA Candidate: Thomas J. Kayal II

What Thomas says:

At Universal Health Services, Inc. (NYSE: UHS), I have been fortunate to be entrusted with the responsibility of managing multiple high-level projects, business plans, and contractual negotiations. The projects include medical research, business decisions, and the effect on the delivery of quality care to patients. The COVID-19 pandemic that has taken grasp of the global health landscape has disrupted healthcare and has led to global shortages for necessary products. In Supply Chain Operations at UHS, I have been tasked to work alongside many talented individuals to ensure that our facilities are able to secure necessary supplies to combat COVID-19, protect our frontline clinicians, and protect our patients.

Illness marks a point in the lives of many; at that point, they become vulnerable and dependent on others, thus making a patient’s faith and healthcare providers vital to their healing process.

My reason for enrolling in the Master of Health Administration program:

My passion is healthcare and helping those who need it most. I have heard of patients with no healthcare benefits who, as a result, have been diagnosed with preventable diseases. The financial, emotional, mental and physical effects that illnesses have on individuals and their families can profoundly impact their well-being while simultaneously affecting our society, in general. Illness marks a point in the lives of many; at that point, they become vulnerable and dependent on others, thus making a patient’s faith and healthcare providers vital to their healing process.

Career aspirations:

To lead an Acute Care Hospital that provides high-quality care, moral efficacy, and the companionship all patients deserve during their healing journey.
