September 29, 2016

Transportation options and how to travel independently on New Jersey Transit buses and trains will be discussed at a “New Jersey Transit 101” program scheduled for October 6 at SAGE Eldercare in Summit.

Louis Hoffman, training coordinator at NJTIP @ Rutgers, will teach adults how to navigate New Jersey Transit, how to plan a trip, obtain tickets, pay cash fares, and understand the different paratransit options.

“Transportation is a vital part of independent living, which is at the core of SAGE Eldercare’s mission. We are pleased to offer this program to the community,” said SAGE Executive Director Angela Sullivan.

The free program will be held on Thursday, October 6 from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at SAGE Eldercare, 290 Broad Street, Summit, NJ. To register or for more information, please call (980) 598-5548 or email education@sageeldercare.org.

NJTIP @ Rutgers provides travel instruction in a learning environment that is free from discrimination on the basis of race, color, national origin, disability or membership in other “protected classes.”  Its mission is to increase the independence and self-sufficiency of people with disabilities, older adults and others by empowering them to use public transit systems safely and independently.
