Transit 'death' panel could kill road projects under gas tax plan

Supporters said that the panel is a good idea because it will reach a consensus about what projects should be funded.

“Making the selection of capital projects more public is good,” said Martin Robins, director emeritus of Rutger’s Voorhees Transportation Institute.

The bill’s language describes the committee as ensuring that “legislative input is provided in the process to select transportation capital projects” funded by the trust fund.
