A new Rutgers University economics study paints a bleak picture of the economic recovery, finding that 20 percent of workers lost their job in the last five years.
One in five, or 30 million people, have been laid off from a job since June 2009, according to a study released Wednesday from Rutgers’s John J. Heldrich Center for Workforce Development.
Of those workers, one in five said that they never found another job. And of the workers who did find another job, one in four said it was a temporary position.
