Together North Jersey public workshop to gather information on Connected Communities in greater Monmouth County

January 25, 2013

The third public workshop for Connecting Community Corridors will be held on Tuesday, January 29 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the Asbury Park Senior Center, 2nd Floor of the Springwood Center, 1201 Springwood Avenue, Asbury Park, NJ. This event will present the opportunity for residents and members of the public to weigh in on the future of the Main Street and Memorial Drive corridor in Asbury Park, Bradley Beach, and Neptune.

Connecting Community Corridors is a joint effort between Together North Jersey, Monmouth County, the City of Asbury Park, the Borough of Bradley Beach, Neptune Township, and Interfaith Neighbors to initiate constructive dialogue among residents and stakeholders in the communities along Main Street, Memorial Drive, and the Asbury Park and Bradley Beach rail stations. The objective is to strengthen connections along the corridor that not only enables mobility of all kinds – cars, transit, biking and walking – but supports local objectives for economic development, arts programming, and community character.

Come share your thoughts, ideas, and creative brainstorming including:

  • Promoting and supporting local businesses
  • Traffic calming and pedestrian/ bicycle improvements
  • Infill & improvements to underutilized land
  • Improving access and usability of existing transit and transit centers

Together North Jersey is a collaborative planning initiative currently underway in the 13-county North Jersey Transportation Planning Authority region of New Jersey.
