Sharanya Sahu, MCRP ’27, was selected as a Community Planning Fellow for the Fund for the City of New York (FCNY) for the 2026-27 academic year.
The Community Planning Fellowship places second-year urban planning graduate students with one of New York City’s community boards. Fellows provide technical support to their assigned community board and pursue a project to advance its vision. Sharanya will work with a community board and its constituents on planning issues pertinent to the neighborhood, ranging from zoning, transportation, economic development, and other land-use concerns.
Sharanya is a student research associate with the Ralph W. Voorhees Center for Civic Engagement and interested in affordable housing, land use, and environmental analytics. Prior to joining the Bloustein School, she interned in the urban development sector in India working on urban water and river management. She received a Bachelor’s degree in Urban Studies and Data Science from UC Berkeley in 2024.
