What do race and research have to do with our love of soda? | Opinion

Who cares about obesity, heart disease and diabetes? Health-care providers, guardians of the public’s health, insurance companies that cover the costs of disease, among others but, not, unfortunately, the organizations that ought to be in the forefront of the campaign for better health practices, advocating for the people who would benefit from efforts to restrict the consumption of sugar.
