Bloustein School announces faculty promotions

The Bloustein School is pleased to announce the recent promotion of several school faculty. Amy E. Underhill Abruzzi, Ph.D, MPH, MLS, CPH, MCHES, Anita Franzione, DrPH, and Alexandra Lopez, M.A. have all been promoted to Full Professor of Teaching.

“These promotions are well deserved and reflect the high standards of teaching and research for which the Bloustein School is known,” said Interim Dean Stuart Shapiro. “The expertise of our teaching professors, and their dedication to their students, makes the Bloustein School an outstanding community in which to learn and conduct research. Congratulations to our colleagues!”

Amy E. Underhill Abruzzi, PhD, MPH, MLS, CPH, MCHES Professor Abruzzi’s research interests include cancer epidemiology, prevention of chronic illness and comorbidities, the geography of health, especially urban/rural issues in the U.S., and environmental and occupational contributions to disease disparities. She teaches a variety of undergraduate courses, including Epidemiology, Urban Health, Cancer and Society, and Health and Public Policy.
Anita Franzione Professor Franzione’s research interests include US health care systems, aging, quality improvement in patient care in various settings, and public health initiatives. She teaches many undergraduate courses, including Health Care Systems, Principles of Public Health, Public Health & Aging, and Professional Practice.
Alexandra Lopez Professor Lopez’s research interests include clinical supervision in addiction counseling and cultural competency, and clinical service provision within the Latino community. She teaches the popular Drugs, Culture and Society course as well as Science of Prevention.
