Graduate Program | Public Policy Joint Degree Program
Public Policy and Social Work (MPP/MSW)
The dual MPP/MSW degree offers students the opportunity to develop advanced policy practice skills with a focus on social justice and social welfare policy. It complements and enhances both the Bloustein School’s MPP program and the Rutgers School of Social Work’s MSW program by contributing to specialized knowledge and practice skills and supporting expanded career opportunities for students.
The dual degree is a savings of a full year (27 credits) relative to completing both degrees independently. For the MPP program, students take 36 credits and 12 additional credits are accepted from the MSW. For the MSW program, students take 45 credits and 15 additional credits are accepted from the MPP.
To be considered for the dual degree program, students must apply and be accepted separately into the Bloustein School’s MPP Program and the School of Social Work’s MSW Program.
