Taking First Steps Toward a Transit Friendly Future

July 27, 2026

Earlier this summer NJTOD, Downtown New Jersey, and NJ TRANSIT’s Transit Friendly Planning Program hosted Taking First Steps Toward a Transit Friendly Future. Held at NJ TRANSIT headquarters, the event brought together representatives from multiple agencies to highlight strategies for transit-oriented growth. Municipal officers, planners, community leaders, and stakeholders from across New Jersey gathered to listen to expert presentations and hold small-group discussions on transit-oriented development, housing, economic development, transportation planning, and funding opportunities. Attendees connected with state agency representatives working to advance transit-friendly growth across New Jersey.
