Rutgers Future Healthcare Administrators to present “A Day in the Life of an Administrator,” March 27

February 20, 2014

2596498The Bloustein School’s public health major (832, 832D) prepares students for graduate education in public health and the health professions, and for entry-level positions in a broad spectrum of private and public health organizations. Students enrolled in the public health major can enroll in the Public Health Administration Certificate program (27 credits), which provides core skills important for employment in public health and health care administration and covers much of the material necessary for students to prepare for graduate school in health administration.

The School is pleased to offer support to the Rutgers Future Healthcare Administrators club, a professional student organization for undergraduate students interested in the field of Healthcare Administration. It focuses on opening networking, and academic opportunities for students by way of different social events we hold on campus.

On Thursday, March 27, FHA will present “A Day In the Life of an Administrator,” a discussion led by administration from Barnabas Health, the largest healthcare delivery system in NJ. Barnabas Health currently owns eight hospitals, 22 outpatient centers, three retail pharmacies, and 16 specialty centers. At this event students will learn about the  inner workings of the hospital and the different departments (e.g. business, law, medicine, engineering) . The main takeaway from this event is to show students of any major the career potential in the healthcare field. The group will focus on helping students get internship opportunities and aid in their current students by networking with like-minded students.

The event will be held at the Busch Campus Center International Lounge, beginning at 9:00 p.m.

This event is open to Rutgers students in all majors.
