On February 18, 2014 Marco Tedesco, City College of New York and Jonathan Perl, Sonic Arts Center, City College will discuss their collaborative approach to climate research and music in a lecture, “Climate Science Meets Music: Listen to the Greenland Ice Sheet Melting,” at the Zimmerli Art Museum at Rutgers University. Tedesco will explain his fieldwork in Greenland styudying surface processes of snow and ice, and Perl will discuss his process of sonification (translating climatological data into musical scores). The event will begin at 4:00 p.m.
