Bloustein School public health instructors earn NJLBHA Public Health awards

Three Bloustein School public health instructors will be recognized for their significant contributions to the health and safety of their communities on December 8 at the 2016 Public Health Awards Ceremony.

Nominees and award winners were selected by New Jersey Local Boards of Health Association in conjunction with the New Jersey Association of City and County Health Officials, New Jersey Association of Public Health Nurse Administrators, New Jersey Environmental Health Association, New Jersey Society of Public Health Educators, and New Jersey Public Health Association.

All three were nominated and will be recognized for the category of Health Officer of the year, which honors the Health Officer who most exemplifies public health leadership and who, working with their local board(s) of health, reaches out to the community and develops innovative programs.

The winner is David A. Henry, Health Officer, C.O.O. & Secretary of the Monmouth County Regional Health Commission, serving 21 counties, who teaches Principles of Public Health for the Bloustein School.

Also being recognized in the category are Kevin G. Sumner, Health Officer & Director of Middle-Brook Regional Health Commission in Warren Twp., who teaches Principles of Public Health and Public Health Preparedness for the Bloustein School and Peter N. Tabbot, Health Officer of the Rockaway Twp. Health Department, who teaches Principles of Public Health and Environmental & Occupational Health for the Bloustein School

Paschal Nwako, Health Officer for Camden County, is also being recognized in this category.
