BACKGROUND: The goal of the Consortium is to promote positive change for New Jersey’s economy. Continuing an effort begun in 2007, Bloustein School Dean James W. Hughes and Marc D. Weiner, associate research professor, conducted a spring 2017 survey of New Jersey business leaders to identify essential economic indicators and market trends and explore how demographic changes are affecting business practices in New Jersey. The goal of the study is to aid in the development of policy recommendations to support stronger growth economy within New Jersey and the Northeast region.

Recognizing that “data drives change,” the findings of the study and insights from the panel discussion will be used to engage with policy makers, state agencies, and key trade associations to help improve New Jersey’s business climate, retain existing in-state companies, and attract out-of-state companies in the process of expansion and/or relocation.

The study and analysis were made possible by charitable contributions from CBRE, Inc., PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, Riker Danzig Scherer Hyland Perretti LLP; PNC Financial Services, and Kimmerle Group.

Members of the media are invited to attend the LIVE event. To attend the in-person event, please contact Karyn Olsen at karyno@rutgers.edu or 848-932-2814 by June 21.
