Editorial: Mercer County residents demonstrate commitment to philanthropy

We have seen the generosity of Mercer County residents time and again over the years.

When disaster strikes, when times are lean, when food pantries run low, the people in this region respond with open hands and open hearts.

A recent study by the Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy at Rutgers University quantifies that kindness with empirical evidence. Seventy percent of all charitable giving comes from the pockets of individuals while just 15 percent stems from foundations.
