October 8, 2020

Mark G. Robson, Board of Governors Distinguished Service Professor in the Department of Plant Biology, has been appointed a three-year term as the Edward J. Bloustein School Senior Policy Fellow in Global Health Policy and Practice.

“With the recent addition of the undergraduate Global Health and Health Policy Certificate Program, the Bloustein School has redoubled its efforts to incorporate global health into our CEPH-accredited public health program,” said Bloustein School Dean Piyushimita (Vonu) Thakuriah. “The role of Senior Policy Fellow brings highly distinguished, nationally prominent professionals in the areas of public policy, planning and health, and health administration to join the school.”

The honor highlights Dr. Robson’s work in Thailand, the Philippines, Burma, El Salvador, Laos, and Liberia as a leader in the field of global health. His pioneering efforts at studying the environmental exposures to pesticides and related agriculture chemicals and their effects on farmers, their children, and other rural populations also embodies the Bloustein School’s commitment to creating a healthier and more sustainable world.
