Antoni Muntadas and Marshall Reese present Political Advertisement X– almost 40 years in the making – tracing the use and history of political media.

For the past nine general elections, the artists have premiered the latest version of the compilation in a public presentation, followed by a discussion about the impact of campaign advertising.

Surveying the American televisual campaign process from Eisenhower to Clinton and Trump, the artists trace the history of television ads as both political strategy and marketing technique.

The screening will be followed by a discussion with the artists moderated by Stuart Shapiro, Ph.D., Associate Dean of Faculty and Professor, Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy and John Weingart, Associate Director, Eagleton Institute of Politics and Director, Education Programs and Center on the American Governor.

Sponsored by The Edward J.
