Election-related events at the Bloustein School, Nov. 6 and Nov. 8

On Tuesday, November 6 the Bloustein School will host an informal Election Night viewing event at the Civic Square Building. Beginning at 6:00 p.m., students, faculty and staff are welcome to join us in the Special Events Forum and lobby and watch and discuss election results as they come in. Associate Professor Stuart Shapiro will also be on hand to provide commentary and insights as the election progresses.

On Thursday, November 8 Allison Kopicki MPP ’05, polling editor at The New York Times, will lead a discussion “Election 2012: Dissecting the Numbers.”

Allison Kopicki worked as a consultant on the national exit polls for NBC during the 2004, 2008, and 2010 elections and for the American Association for Public Opinion Research on teaching journalists to write about survey research. In addition, she has worked in public policy in both government and academic settings, including the New Jersey Office of the State Comptrollers and the Office of Economic Growth, as well as the Bloustein School’s John J. Heldrich Center for Workforce Development. Prior to obtaining her MPP from the Bloustein School, Kopicki was an editor and writer for Bloomberg Personal Financemagazine.

The event will be held in Room 261, Civic Square Building, and begin at 4:00 p.m.
