Together North Jersey hosting workshop 1/23 to gather information on complete communities along Route 202 corridor

January 17, 2013

The first public workshop for “Together 202: Reimagining Complete Communities Along a Connecting Corridor” will be held on Wednesday, January 23 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. in the Assembly Room in Building #1 at the Hunterdon County Complex, 314 State Route 12, Flemington, NJ.

“Together 202″ is a joint effort between Together North Jersey, Hunterdon and Somerset counties to initiate constructive dialogue among residents and stakeholders in the communities along Route 202 between Flemington and Somerville. The objective of this effort is to strengthen community-building along the corridor that not only enables mobility of all kinds – cars, transit, biking and walking – but supports local objectives for economic development and community character.

Workshop topics will include developing a unified vision for the future of the corridor; considering how abandoned properties can be reinvented; discussing ways to improve how people move along the corridor and how it connects them; and how to ensure a strong economic future for the corridor.

Together North Jersey is a collaborative partnership dedicated to strengthening the region’s economy and improving access to good jobs, quality schools, safe and stable neighborhoods, a healthy environment, fresh food, and civic and cultural resources. The Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policyat Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is the administrative and fiscal agent for Together North Jersey.

Please RSVP to Janani Shankaran at Janani@rpa.org. For more information on Together North Jersey, please visit http://www.togethernorthjersey.com or contact Miriam Salerno at miriam.salerno@ejb.rutgers.edu.
