Together North Jersey to hold final presentation of design concept for Asbury Park/Bradley Beach/Neptune corridor

“Connecting Community Corridors,” a joint effort of Together North Jersey, Monmouth County, the city of Asbury Park, Borough of Bradley Beach, Neptune Township and Interfaith Neighbors to initiate constructive dialogue among residents and stakeholders in the communities along Main Street, Memorial Drive, and the Asbury Park and Bradley Beach rail stations, will host a final presentation of the design concepts and plans on Wednesday, February 27. The open house with revolving presentations will run from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. with a formal presentation starting 5:30 p.m.

The presentation will be held at Monmouth County Connection, 3544 State Highway 66 (next to Home Depot), Neptune, N.J. 07753.

The objective of the “Connecting Community Corridors” project is to strengthen connections along the Main Street/Memorial Drive corridor that not only enable mobility of all kinds – cars, transit, biking and walking – but support local objectives for economic development, arts programming and community character.

Residents and members of the public are encouraged to come see the design concepts for the study area including:

  • Arts and cultural branding
  • Enhanced shuttle service
  • Traffic calming and pedestrian/ bicycle improvements
  • Infill & improvements to underutilized land around the train stations
  • Urban agriculture and community gardens
  • Unified facade improvement and main street program

Together North Jersey is a collaborative planning initiative under way in the 13-county North Jersey Transportation Planning Authority region of New Jersey. Through open forums, Together North Jersey and its members will create a comprehensive and balanced plan that invests in the region’s existing communities where housing, jobs, educational, cultural and recreational opportunities are made more easily accessible.
