The National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence (NCADD) of Middlesex County and the Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy will co-sponsor the 2014 NCADD Legislative Event Annual Policy Forum, “Marijuana: A Complicated Issue. Let’s Talk” on Tuesday, March 25 at the Bloustein School’s Civic Square Building in New Brunswick, NJ.
The issue of marijuana causes a buzz on a daily basis, but too frequently opinions are formed and decisions made based on a one-sided presentation of information. On March 25th people will have the opportunity to discuss multiple perspectives related to medical use, legalization, and the decriminalization of marijuana. The 2014 Policy Forum will feature speakers who will discuss various aspects relevant to the question of the legalization of marijuana, including medical science, the economic impact, and addiction from a clinical and personal perspective.
Moderated by NCADD CEO and Executive Director Steve Liga, panelists will include David L. Buch, M.D., Clinical Psychiatrist and Chief Medical Officer at Carrier Clinic; Ken Wolski, Executive Director of the Coalition for Medical Marijuana-New Jersey Inc.; Frank Greenagel, Recovery Counselor at both Rutgers New Brunswick & Newark, where he oversees recovery housing and coordinates student & alumni activities; and, Rick F., a recovering marijuana user.
“Our goal” said Liga, “is to gain a broader, shared understanding of the complex issues involved in society’s new approaches to marijuana use.”
