Ph.D. candidate Lauren Nolan selected for Rutgers PreDoctoral Leadership Academy

Bloustein School Ph.D. candidate Lauren Nolan, AICP, has been selected for the PreDoctoral Leadership Academy (PLDA), offered by the Rutgers Center for Organizational Leadership with support from the School of Graduate Studies, School of Arts and Sciences-NB, and the School of Communication and Information-NB.

PDLA is a one-year program designed to provide doctoral students from a broad array of academic disciplines with the supplemental knowledge and skills needed for academic and administrative leadership roles. It was created to provide a complement to discipline-based study by offering experiential and classroom opportunities that emphasize leadership style and strategy, collaborative decision-making, planning and organizational assessment, communication with internal and external constituencies, and other knowledge and skill-sets important to informal and formal leadership and professional advancement.

Lauren joined the Bloustein School’s Ph.D. program in 2019. having served as the Research Director at the Woodstock Institute in Chicago, a policy advocacy organization working in the areas of fair lending, wealth creation, and financial systems reform. She earned her MCP, City and Regional Planning from the University of Pennsylvania and double bachelor’s in economics and sociology from the University of Notre Dame.
