Bloustein School undergraduate Christine Starozytnyk passed away on March 11

March 16, 2022

The school is saddened to share the news that Bloustein School undergraduate student Christine Starozytnyk (Bachelor of Science in Health Administration student) passed away unexpectedly late last week.

Christine was a bright and vibrant student within the University community.  Born in New Brunswick and raised in South Bound Brook, she was a cancer survivor of childhood leukemia. She spent much of her non-Rutgers time working as a medical assistant at Somerset Pediatric Group in Raritan, New Jersey, connecting with the children who were patients and assisting the doctors and nurses of the office. In her spare time, she enjoyed anime, pet sitting for Rover, and her loved ones. She was unimaginably kind, humble, and brought a light with her that couldn’t shine brighter.

More information about Christine and service details may be found here.  She will be sadly missed. Our deepest condolences go out to her family and friends. Please keep them in your thoughts.

Her family has also shared the GoFundMe to assist with funeral costs.

The Bloustein School is working with Rutgers CAPS to provide support to those who need it.  CAPS encourages students to reach out to connect and talk at any time they should need.
