The Women’s Leadership Coalition will host the 11th Annual Spring Conference on Building Coalitions on Friday, March 3 at the Bloustein School’s Civic Square Building, 33 Livingston Avenue, New Brunswick.

In this half-day event (9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.), participants will learn how to use their leadership skills and resources to bring together people from other marginalized communities or identities to work towards a common goal. The professional development workshop will be facilitated by Patti O’Brien-Richardson, Associate Teaching Professor at the Bloustein School, and will include a speaker panel with grassroots activists working on the ground to advance their missions.

The panelists are:

  • Moderator: Janice Fine, Professor, School of Management and Labor Relations, Rutgers University
  • Adriana Abizadeh, Executive Director of the Kensington Corridor Trust and Bloustein School Senior Policy Fellow
  • Patricia Campos-Medina, Executive Director of the Worker Institute at Cornell University
  • Katie Brennan MCRP ’12, Executive Director of the New York Office of Storm Recovery

This event is open to the entire Rutgers community, and participants of all gender identities and backgrounds are welcome. Registration is free for all. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.
