The Bloustein School is pleased to announce that the Rutgers Board of Governors approved Derek DeLia and Wenwen Zhang as Associate Professors with tenure, and reappointed Barbara Faga as Professor of Practice, at their recent meeting.

Derek DeLia is a Health Economist with research interests in healthcare payment and delivery reform; Medicaid policy; the economics of hospitals and health centers; emergency medical care; healthcare access among the poor, uninsured, and minorities; social determinants of health; childhood obesity and the built environment; health insurance coverage; performance measurement in Accountable Care Organizations (ACO’s); healthcare markets; and market factors that affect access to limb salvage procedures for patients with severe chronic wounds. Dr. DeLia’s research is published in peer-reviewed journals such as Health Affairs, Health Services Research, Annals of Emergency Medicine, and Medical Care.
Wenwen Zhang, Ph.D. joined the Bloustein School in August 2020. Her research focuses on the social and policy impacts of emerging transportation technologies, such as automated vehicles, ride-hailing services, and micro-mobility, and leveraging data science and visualization techniques to address critical urban planning issues. She has published 16 journal articles, 15 conference proceedings, and one book chapter. She has served as a guest editor for Transportation Research Part D: Transport and Environment.

Barbara Faga enjoyed a 30-year career as an author, professor and professional urban planner, having worked with communities to enhance the public’s perception of landscape architecture and urban design. As a leader, Barbara embraces the powerful impact she has on the society of landscape architects and urban planners and she continues to be an inspirational mentor to young professionals and speaks regularly at universities. Barbara is considered a leader in advocacy and participatory planning processes, leading high-profile public and private commissions internationally and within the United States.
Their promotions underscores the scholarly excellence and the Bloustein School’s standing as a home for researchers of global distinction.
