Master of Health Administration (MHA) Annual Reports

2024-2025

Dear Colleagues,

This year’s milestone is the successful launch of our Doctor of Health Administration (DHA) program in Fall 2025, welcoming an inaugural cohort of 23 mid- and senior-level healthcare leaders. Designed in an executive-style format, the DHA advances practice-based doctoral training in leadership, strategy, analytics, and implementation—while allowing participants to remain fully engaged in their organizations.

The Master of Health Administration (MHA) program continues to move forward through applied, practice-informed learning, leadership development, and strong engagement with employers and alumni—preparing graduates for administrative fellowships and early-career leadership roles across a wide range of healthcare organizations. Our undergraduate program also continues to advance through experiential learning, internships, and close collaboration with practitioners and alumni.
Wishing you and your families a happy holiday season and a healthy, prosperous New Year.

2023-2024

Dear Colleagues,

As I reflect on the 2023-2024 academic year, I am filled with immense pride in the progress and achievements of the Rutgers Health Administration Program. Our unwavering commitment to excellence in health management education has propelled us forward, and I am excited to share the milestones we have reached together.

The Rutgers Health Administration Program continues to thrive, with the Bachelor of Science in Health Administration equipping students for entry-level careers in the healthcare industry. The Master of Health Administration (MHA)program has also seen significant curriculum enhancements, addressing critical topics such as health equity, innovations, and entrepreneurship, ensuring students are well-prepared to tackle today’s healthcare challenges.

I am proud to announce that Rutgers MHA program received a full seven-year accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education, reaffirming our commitment to maintaining the highest standards of academic excellence and professional preparation. Looking ahead, we are thrilled to announce the launch of the Doctor of Health Administration (DHA) program in Fall 2025, designed to cultivate senior leaders in healthcare innovation and policy.

This past year student achievements have been exemplary, with 10 MHA graduates earning prestigious postgraduate administrative fellowships and many from the graduating class securing positions at leading organizations such as Yale New Haven Health and RWJBarnabas Health. Experiential learning remains a cornerstone of our program, exemplified by initiatives like the Rutgers Future Healthcare Administrators’ undergraduate annual case competition and robust career development events. Additionally, our faculty continue to make meaningful contributions through impactful research reinforcing Rutgers’ commitment to advancing health equity.

As we celebrate this year’s accomplishments, I want to express my deepest gratitude to our faculty, staff, students, alumni, and stakeholders for their contributions and support. With the launch of the DHA program on the horizon, the continued enhancements to our undergraduate and graduate programs, and the reaccreditation of our MHA program by CAHME, the future of the Rutgers Health Administration Program is brighter than ever. Thank you for being part of this journey. I look forward to all that we will achieve together in the coming year.

Warm regards,
