In order to use the wireless networks within the Civic Square Building, you will need to use your NETID, which is an official email account at Rutgers University. For more information on NETIDs, please see this link. The only other option is to be provided with a guest WIFI account from us.
To use the wireless network all you have to do is connect to the RUWireless WIFI network and then open up a browser and you should be directed to a web page that will require you to enter your NETID account information. When logging into that page, you should only enter your username and not the rest of your email address. For example, if your email address is firstname.lastname@example.org, all you need to enter for a username is tsmith. If for some reason the page does not come up, please go to a web site that you rarely visit, which will force the computer to seek all of the information from the external site.
RUWireless Secure is a faster wireless network and the one we recommend, but it is restricted to individuals with a NetID. To connect to RUWireless Secure, connect to RUWireless and at the splash page, you’ll see a link for RUWireless secure on the right and you can then go and install software on your device, which is required. Once the software is installed, you should be able to connect to RUWireless Secure and you will not have to login every time you access the wireless network. For more information on RUWireless, please see the RUWireless web page.
If you are a member of the Bloustein School community and have any problems using the wireless network, or need a guest account, please contact us.
