Virtual Labs

Rutgers OIT and the Bloustein School have virtual computer labs available.  In order to use the virtual labs, you should have a reliable computer in good working condition that is less than five years old. The following are our recommended minimum specifications for the systems being used to access the virtual labs:

Minimum Windows Laptop Specifications:
Intel Core i3 processor
Windows 10 x64
4GB of RAM

Minimum Mac Specifications:
Intel Core i3 processor
MacOS Sierra
4GB RAM

Rutgers New Brunswick Virtual Labs

The Rutgers OIT virtual labs are a virtual representation of the general access computer labs on the New Brunswick Campus.  They are available to all Rutgers students.  They are being used by Bloustein School courses that require access to statistics software like R, SPSS, and Stata.  Undergraduate courses teaching ArcGIS are also using the OIT Virtual Labs.  You can find out what software is accessible in the Rutgers OIT Virtual labs here:

Please note that you made need to adjust the resolution of your screen for best results.  We also recommend saving your work frequently to the Google Drive associated with your Scarletmail account, or to another cloud based file sharing service of your choosing.

Bloustein School Virtual Labs
The Bloustein School Virtual Labs are a virtual representation of the computer labs located at the Bloustein School and are used for the courses that are normally held in our instructional labs.  These include the graduate courses that use ArcGIS and graphics programs, as well as the undergraduate classes that use graphics programs.  Students enrolled in these courses are provided with guidance on accessing the Bloustein School Virtual Labs.  If you are a Bloustein School student who is not enrolled in one of these classes, but needs access, please contact us at help@ejb.rutgers.edu .
